SUGAR FRIGHT

Rainbow Six: Siege Sugar Fright was a bold take on the Muppets Show and Wonka Factory meets Halloween event. It's visual thematic was very polarizing not to say the least. Sadly, this event took a big hit from the start of COVID-19. It's development became very difficult to process alongside UX and its marketing vision.

The main tech intentions for Sugar Firght was to make Respawn and Kill Confirm. It was a great warm-up type mode but had many spawn camping issues. It's been fridged ever since it's first release back in October 2020 (as it was also overly less favored than Doktor's Curse by the player base).

My job consisted to produce multiple in-game UI Menu Flows and Mockups and custom assets ranging from in-game Modal prompts, Rules Pages, button tiles visuals, icons and promotional marketing Key Arts.

At Ubisoft, UI Artists are also considered integrators, as of such I followed and wrote new documentations for processes, workflows and best industry practices over the years for juniors and newcomers alike.

The main keyart for the event was made by John Bigorgne. I had to readapt it to fit the UI screen so that it doesnt overlaps with the Interface assets.

My goal, as usual, was to pay tribute to what the world team created for the map and seek to pay tribute through the interface artistic designs.

Some funny tid-bits we did through the event process was to customize gadgets and have portraits and characters weild to official rendered skinned items. It was my job to add those little easter eggs here and there.

On rainbow Six Siege I've always been at the very forefront of the Cards system rework that eventually will make them customizable items. But before they were, cards and operators were blended together.

This was very neat as artists could take freedom of making custom rim lights, color overlays and blends with the backgrounds. And, event after event, I pushed back the characters more and more to allow us to see much more of the background too.

Disclaimer that the credits below are relevant people for the above mockups, menus and assets creation at the Montreal Studio. The game has more than 900+ developers as of 2026. It is impossible for me to list everyone. I tried to list everyone from memory and I'm very sorry if your name should and does not appear in this list.
